Renata Glasc

Q: #Riftbound QOTD:

1) I exhaust a Heimerdinger Inventor at base and pay to activate Renata Glasc Mastermind's ability to score 1 point. Is this legal?

2) I exhaust a Heimerdinger Inventor and pay to activate an empowered Jayce legend's ability to ready 2 gear. Is this legal?

3) Why are these two cards the same or different?

A: Heimerdinger only looks at the specific activated ability.

Legal. Renata's "Use my abilities only while I'm at a battlefield." is a linked passive ability that is not a part of the activated ability.
Illegal. "Empowered" is a dependent keyword where if it has the status, then it has the text (828.1.b.1.). That means Heimerdinger needs to be Empowered (via effects like Profiteer) in order to use Jayce's empowered activated ability.
