Q. During a showdown, I play Back Off from my hand to stun an enemy unit. My enemy reacts by countering Back Off. Do I still draw 1?
A. No. When a spell is countered, it leaves the chain and never resolves. So even if the spell was finalized, the printed “played” is not relevant here because the instruction never executed.
