Smite

Action (Play on your turn or in showdowns.)

Deal 3 to a unit at a battlefield. If it would die this turn, banish it instead.

** Q. I play Smite and damage a 4 might enemy unit. My enemy activates Baited Hook and targets their "smited" unit.**

Does my enemy get to play a unit up to 5 from their looked cards?

No. After Smite resolves, a delayed replacement effect becomes active where if the unit later dies in the same turn, they would get banished.

Since the enemy activates Baited Hook and proceeds to kill their unit, it would get banished and "killed unit" would return null.
