What happens when you play Abandon on a spell that was played for its Flow cost?

It will be banished when it attempts to leave the chain.

What happens when I play Moonfall choosing an enemy unit while I control an empowered Mel, Newly Awakened?

The chosen unit will be given -3 might . All other enemy units at the chosen battlefield will be given -2 might .

All enemy units will be given -3 might .

What about casting Stupefy while I have an empowered Mel, Newly Awakened?

The chosen unit will be given -2 might , to a minimum of 1 might . If it was 2 might , it will become 1 might .

The chosen unit will be given -1 might , to a minimum of 1 might .

The chosen unit will be given -2 might with no minimum.

Speaking of Mel, can my opponent play Abandon on my spell while I control an empowered Mel, Newly Awakened? What happens?

They can play Abandon targeting your spell. On resolution, they will Predict, but nothing else will happen.

They can’t play Abandon at all.

Abandon will counter the spell and return it to hand.

How does it work if I cast Abandon while having an empowered Mel, Newly Awakened but they Rebuttal my spell?

Gaining control of a spell is not the same thing as countering it; if they pay rune_rainbow , they gain control of it.

If they don’t pay rune_rainbow , the spell is countered anyway.

Mel prevents Rebuttal from changing control.

What new choices can I make when I play Rebuttal and pay rune_rainbow ?

You can choose any number of targets or modes to make new choices for. The rest remain the same.

You can remake every choice, even illegal ones.

You can only change targets, not modes.

What happens if I choose to copy an empowered unit when I equip an unempowered unit with Shady Spectacles?

Being empowered is a status and is not copyable, thus the equipped unit will remain unempowered.

The equipped unit becomes empowered as part of the copy.

The equipped unit copies the empowered status only if it was already equipped.

What happens when my opponent’s Akshan, Mischievous steals my equipped Shady Spectacles? What happens if they want to copy Aphelios?

If it was attached to a unit, the equipped unit loses its copy effect. Akshan will then become a copy of a friendly unit of his controller’s choice. If he becomes a copy of Aphelios, his ability will not trigger.

Akshan immediately triggers twice as Aphelios.

The equipment remains with the original unit until end of turn.

My Sand Soldier has Shady Spectacles equipped and is a copy of Azir, Ascendent. What happens if I activate the copied Azir’s activated ability before detaching the Shady Spectacles and then attach them to the same Sand Soldier as a copy of the same Azir, Ascendent? Can I use the activated ability again?

No, the ability is used up.

Only if the Sand Soldier left the battlefield in between.

What happens during combat damage assignment if my 4 might unit has both Ki Barrier and Lotus Trap played on it this turn and my opponent has a 4 might defender?

You can order the replacement effects on your unit. If Ki Barrier is first, your unit will take no damage and you will have 3 damage prevention remaining on your unit. If Lotus Trap is first, your unit will take 1 damage and will have no damage prevention remaining on your unit.

The replacement effects apply simultaneously and always result in 2 damage.

Ki Barrier prevents all damage regardless of order.

What happens when I discard a Patched Porobot with Hwei, Brooding Painter’s move trigger?

Two triggers will go on the chain, in the order of your choosing. One says “Give me +3 might this turn.” while the other says “Ready up to 2 runes.”

Only one trigger goes on the chain, chosen by you.

No triggers go on the chain because Patched Porobot is a gear.

If my opponent plays two spells in succession, can I counter the first one with Crumbling Sands?

No, only the second spell can be countered.

Only if the first spell wasn’t countered already.

When can I react to my opponent playing Fallen Feline to a battlefield? And how does naming a card work?

You can react to the play effect of Fallen Feline, before they’ve named a spell. You can name a card using information that uniquely identifies it, but you can’t name something that doesn’t exist in Riftbound or use an ambiguous name.

You must wait until the name is chosen before reacting, and any partial name is legal.

You can name any tag or type as long as opponents understand it.

If I disempower a Kayle, Justified who has been empowered 3 times, does she lose all of her empowered statuses?

No. She will lose one of her empowered statuses.

Yes. She loses all empowered statuses.

No, disempower does nothing to Kayle.

But can I activate Kayle’s empower ability even if she’s already empowered?

No, it only works if she has 0 empowered statuses.

Only if she has fewer than 2 empowered statuses.

What happens if my opponent plays Flash on their Akali, Silent that’s currently in combat after I play Star-Crossed targeting her?

Akali will be unaffected by Star Crossed as it resolves.

Star-Crossed will still damage her normally.

Flash will make her a legal target again.

I have a Ravenbloom Student on the board and I haven’t played any spells this turn. What happens when I play Rebuttal targeting my opponent’s Stupefy and pay rune_rainbow on resolution? After everything resolves, how much will Battering Ram cost? Will my opponent’s Legion abilities be active?

Ravenbloom Student will trigger twice, Battering Ram will cost energy_4 , and your opponent’s Legion abilities will be active.

Ravenbloom Student will not trigger, Battering Ram will cost energy_5 , and Legion abilities will be inactive.

Ravenbloom Student will trigger once, Battering Ram will cost energy_3 , and Legion abilities will be inactive.

What happens when I conquer with Swain, Visionary, if I’ve only played a Patched Porobot and Stupefy this turn?

You will score 2 points total. 1 from conquering, 1 from Swain.

You will score only 1 point total.

You will score 3 points total.

What happens when my opponent plays Switcheroo on their 2 might unit and my empowered Gangplank, Naval?

Gangplank, Naval will replace his Might being lowered with him being given +3 might this turn.

Gangplank, Naval will be unaffected because the other unit’s Might changes first.

Gangplank, Naval will gain +1 might this turn.

What happens when my empowered Gangplank, Naval is moved by my opponent’s Blast Cone’s play effect and they exhaust Blast Cone to stun Gangplank? Will he be stunned? What happens if I then play Back Off choosing my Gangplank? Will he get +3 might this turn?

Blast Cone will stun Gangplank. If you play Back Off choosing your stunned Gangplank, he will not receive +3 might this turn.

Blast Cone cannot stun Gangplank, and Back Off will still give him +3 might .

Blast Cone stuns him only if Back Off was played first.

What happens if I play Stupefy on my 1 might empowered Gangplank, Naval? Will he get +3 might this turn?

Yes, he will get +3 might .

He will become stunned instead.

What happens when my opponent plays Hidden Blade targeting my Akali, Deadly Weapon in reaction to her move trigger? Will it still deal damage to the chosen unit?

Only if Akali stays on the board.
